Yonatan Sompolinsky

Founder , KASPA
Dr. Yonatan Sompolinsky is the primary architect and founder of Kaspa. A leading authority on cryptographic protocols, he holds a Ph.D. from The Hebrew University and conducted postdoctoral research at Harvard University.  Sompolinsky is the inventor of the GHOSTDAG protocol, which underpins Kaspa's high-speed BlockDAG structure. His foundational impact on Layer-1 design began with the GHOST protocol (2013), a concept famously cited in the Ethereum whitepaper. Critically, he ensured Kaspa's fair launch and decentralized development post-DAGLabs, remaining a key theoretical contributor. He continues to drive the future of consensus with innovations like the DAG KNIGHT protocol and the vProgs initiative,  enabling highly composable, trust-minimized off-chain computation that seamlessly integrates with Kaspa’s high-throughput L1.
